Just some thoughts.

Our Stake had a Women's Conference today entitled "Finding Joy in the Journey- Now."
One of the sisters in our stake painted this painting just for the conference and had the original there. Each of us was given a print of it to take home. This print doesn't do it justice but I loved what she had to say about it.
She said," I wanted this painting to lead the viewer to the Light of the Savior. The path reflects not only the seasons of the year but the various seasons in the lives of sisters who walk there together. Loving, laughing and clasping one another's hand to help each other along the way."

I love how all the seasons are in the picture and there are women at all stages of life depicted in it. As I looked at this painting I thought of the seasons of my life so far and the joys I have had in each of those seasons...as a teen, a newly married woman, a young mother, a mother of teens and now a mother with married children. While I have loved each season for different reasons my greatest joys have been my children. I hope that they will always know how much I love them and how much of a joy they are to me!

More Birthday

Tonight when Steve came home he brought this beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. Wow! He and Heather must think alike! He also gave me a new griddle which I desperately needed!

And surprise! He bought me a new sewing machine! He picked it out all by himself. I think it is going to take me a year to figure it all out. Help Mom!!!

They say it's your birthday!

Heather and Clint sent me this beautiful bouquet of flowers today for my birthday! They also sent a cute americana decoration for my family room downstairs AND sang to me in their most lovely voices over the phone.

I also got a call from Kyle and Han this morning where I was Treated to the Beatles singing "They say it's your birthday". They gave me a rice cooker...(a regift if you know what I mean )but I love it! My Mom sent this cookbook which has some fun recipes in it. I'm always up for new recipes to try.

My friends, LeAnn, Lanelle and Libby took me to lunch yesterday and Libby gave me a cute wicker basket and a gift card to Bath and Body and let's not forget those yummy cookies!

Today it was lunch and a movie with my friend Kathy. We went to Rombi Grill, (I love their salads) and to see the movie Inkheart which we both enjoyed although of course the book is better. Another friend, Kathleen gave me a book by Sheri Dew, the YW Presidency gave me some Truffles. Now tonight I get to go watch our Ward's young women play basketball...it's 70's night, Woo,Woo!! Thanks to everyone who has thought of me today. You have made my day!

Austin on game day.

Austin is playing on a Jr. Jazz basketball team this year, hoping to improve his basketball skills. His games are on Saturday mornings from now until March. Knowing I had a blog to keep up , I brought my camera along to the game today.

Austin before the game, sporting his Nike headband and his new haircut.A 3 point shot...unfortunately this one was a little short. He usually is pretty on with his outside shots though.Showing a little dribbling expertise. they scored on this drive. The shot is off and... he scores!! Way to go Austin. Their team won the game. Their second win! They are 2 for 2 so far.

Room Redos

I finally found the last few decorations for our bedroom and I can safely say (at least for now) that it is finished. I love blue and brown together and I really like the way this turned out. The last time my Mother was here I hadn't done this room yet so these pictures are for you, Mom!I love vinyl lettering and anyone who has been to my house knows that I have it all over. The saying above the bed says, " By your side each night I sleep and through the day my heart you keep."The saying above the window says, " Come grow old along with me, the best is yet to be."The saying under the shelf says," A sucessful marriage is falling in love over and over again...always with the same person."Now that we have a few less children at home we have some extra room so I moved our computer upstairs and have Turned Heather's old room into my computer/scrapbooking room.
We are keeping the bed in there for now for guests...you never know who might pop in for a visit! Notice the most cute wall flower I found!!I have all my scrapbooking stuff in bins on the shelves in the closet so it really works out pretty good. I love having a place to work upstairs where it is so much warmer!

Our Family...
As you can see there have been a few changes to our family this past year. On August 14th Heather married Clint Juston Allred in the Bountiful LDS Temple. It was a beautiful day from start to finish!
Heather and Clint are living in Logan and attending Utah State. Heather will graduate in the Spring of 2010 with a B.S. in Social work and Clint will graduate in the fall of 2010 with a Masters in Food Science and Nutrition. They are happiness personified!

Kyle married Han Nyu Do on December 19th in the Bountiful Temple. They enjoyed a blizzard on their wedding day but it did not dampen the excitement of the day.

Our fantastic photographer made the most of the day and took some fun creative pictures...
The Ski goggles were a lot of fun! They are living in the married student housing at the University of Utah where Kyle is working on a degree in Physical Therapy. Han is from Australia/ Vietnam and we love having her as an addtion to our family. They too are extremely happy and loving married life.

Austin is 16 now... the dating and driving age.

He spent the summer working in California at the Holcomb Valley Scout Camp and will be returning this summer to work there - this time for 8 weeks! At 6ft. tall with a head of curly hair, he is a real chick magnet (don't tell him I said that)!

Steve and I... Well we are just loving that our family has grown from this...

To this.... We are looking forward to a great new year with all our friends and family.

Wow! Look at me! I'm a blogger!

Heather and Clint have been bugging me to get with it and start my own blog so here it is! Be patient with me as I am new at this but I will try to keep everyone up to date on the happenings with the Passey Posse.
