Splish Splash!

My sister Holly came up last week with her kids to swim for the afternoon and, yes, I am just now getting around to posting pictures. These kids were all fearless in the water...it helped that the younger ones had life jackets on. Even I feel fearless in the water with a life jacket on! Little Abby loved climbing out and jumping in and climbing out and jumping in and...you get the picture.
Stephen horse played with Austin most of the time. They sure love their cousin Austin!

Chloe loved having me throw her in the air and then watch her swim back to me with her head in the water. Like this...

When it was time to get out Kieran and Abby decided lying on the hot cement was the quickest way to warm up and dry off. I love little Abby's butt up in the air.
Heather joined us for the fun. She brought her new camera to try out so I am sure her pictures are much better than mine. I'm not sure why Austin looks so miserable...perhaps because he already swam for two hours this morning for swim practice and is only here now because of how disappointed the cousins would be without him. Way to be a good sport Austin!

Rachel had been accidentally kicked a couple of times by other swimmers so by the time I got the camera out this shot was the best I could get from her.
Thanks for coming to swim guys. It was a fun afternoon!
I just noticed I don't have pics of me or Holly but that is Holly's foot on the left side of the picture above...does that count?

In all fairness to Kyle I feel I must also blog about this movie.... While Steve was out of town this week I went to see Inception with Kyle and Han. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. It is another A movie (though it does have a bit of swearing in it). Kyle would like to insist that it is better than the previous movie I saw (see below) but I have a hard time comparing the two so if you want to be thoroughly entertained and by that I mean just sit back, relax and enjoy a show then see "A Sorcerer's Apprentice". If you want to be fascinated and captivated by a deep movie that requires some thinking then see "Inception".

A 4 Star Movie

Austin and I went to see "The Sorcerers Apprentice" last night for FHE (Steve was working late) and we both absolutely loved it! It gets a 4 star - an A from both of us. This movie has a little of everything that I love, romance, humor and action/adventure. We were both entertained the whole time by it and it is a very clean movie to boot which is virtually
unheard of these days. The most enjoyable movie I have been to this summer so far! It gets a must see recommendation from both of us!

Oh Woe Is Me!

Coco had to have a nail removed because she broke it too close to her paw. She has been hobbling along on three feet. Who can resist giving that face some extra loving?

Paul McCartney Concert

Last night was the much anticipated Paul McCartney Concert. His first time ever in Utah and an opportunity we just couldn't pass up. Knowing how much of a Beatles fan Kyle is(probably the biggest ever!), we bought him a ticket to go with Steve and I as an early birthday present. Waiting for the concert to begin- a very cheesy smile from Kyle. We had great seats on the field. Wish they could have been closer...maybe next time?!!
This was the best concert I have ever been to and I doubt anything could even come close. Paul was amazing from start to finish. He played for two hours straight without so much as a break for a drink of water. Then he came back on for two encores and performed around six more songs. Kyle has a list of all the songs he performed on his blog so check it out. He sings, plays numorous types of guitars, plays the piano, whistles like nothing I have ever heard and has a great sense of humor to boot. An all around fantastic entertainer.

The stage was amazing with two giant screens on either side. You can see we were a ways back but still they were pretty good seats. No opening act to start things off- Paul just came out and started...

The screens got easier to see as the night came on.
I'm not going to comment on the rest of the pictures but here they are...

I wanted to post one of the videos that Kyle shot from my camera but it was taking too long to upload. I will try again tomorrow. I really can't say enough about how great the concert was but if I ever get the chance to go again, you better believe I will be there!

Dinner with C&H

Steve has been out of town this week and I was bemoaning the fact that I wasn't going to get a night out when Heather suggested I come to their home for dinner. Of course I immediately said "YES!" Austin came along too since he had no plans. We had a delicious dinner of mairnated chicken, corn on the cob, brussel sprouts and a tropical fruit salad after which we played bean bag toss outside. Heather was the star of the night getting 6-7 tosses directly into the hole!!
We returned inside and played a couple games of "Tower of Terror Clue". Surprisingly I won both games- once with just a random guess. I have no pictures of the evening but Heather does so be sure to check out her blog (after she posts about the evening). Thanks C&H for a very fun evening! We will have to do it again soon with Dad this time!!

Girls Camp

This past week I have been at our Young Women's Girls Camp. We had it at Weber Memorial Park which turned out to be a great camping spot. I had over 80 pictures from camp (way too many to blog) so I chose just a few to put in this post. Our theme was F.R.O.G. (Forever Rely On God) and all the girls and the leaders got a hoodie like this one. The camp had a river flowing through it which was great to fall asleep listening to every night.
You could also be lulled to sleep during the day by its' sounds as were two members of our Bishopric...
Whether we were sitting around the campfire in our P.J.s....

playing games, putting on skits, making crafts...

or just realxing, we had fun and kept busy.
Did I mention eating? There was plenty of good food and snacks. The Hobo dinner was probably one of my favorite. All our leaders are enjoying theirs...
My favorite part of camp (and I am sure I am in the minority for saying this) was the hike on Causey Trail. This is such a pretty hike and we had a nice breeze accompany us. The gang is all ready to go!
Here are some scenes along the way...

I really haven't gone into detail about the camp but all in all it went very well and everyone had a great time- there's just too much to write about in a blog. We were all glad to get home though and shower. We did spend the last day at Pineview boating so that made the drive home not as stinky as it could have been!!! We have some great Young women in our Ward and I have loved getting to know them. This is my 3rd girls camp with this bunch and it was probably the best so far!
